Gina Luis
Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical Instructor/Choreographer |
Gina grew up in Southern California and has danced most of her life. She has been trained in the areas of tap, jazz, lyrical and ballet. She received her training from Dellos Dance and Performing Arts Studio in Walnut, Ca. and Edge Performing Arts in Hollywood, Ca. Even though Gina didn’t start her training until she was almost 9 years old, the love of dance was instantaneous. She immediately started taking as many classes as she could and worked as hard as she possibly needed to. In 1994 at 12 years old, she danced for the All American Performance tour at the Hula Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii, performing for the parade, pre-game, and half-time shows. In 1996, Gina returned to Honolulu, Hawaii to perform again for the All American Performance tour, but this time for the Pro Bowl. Later on she would become a member of Gregg Russell’s tap company, “Tapsounds Underground”. The L.A based tap company has allowed her to work with legends Al Gilbert and Ardie Bryant, also, traveling around the country for many benefits in honor of many other great performers such as, Buddy Ebson, Dick Van Dyke, Cyd Charisse, Donald O’Connor, and the Nicholas Brothers along with dancing for the Miss Kansas Pageant in 2001. In 2004, Gina was a lead dancer in a commercial for Carvel Ice Cream directed and produced by Gregg Russell. Along with all of her accomplishments she also started teaching at the age of 15. Now after teaching for over 12 years, it is still the love of her life. She hopes to inspire children in and out of the dance room to be the best they can be, to love what they do and to enjoy every minute of it.
