“Edge Kids”is a performing and competing company for dancers ages 4 and up, based out of the Visalia studio. This company is perfect for the focused dancer who wants to excel in dance but also offers the flexibility for the dancer to participate in other activities. “Edge Kids” is known for its fun, energetic routines full of style and flair. In house teacher/choreographers include: Rebecca Anne Hart, Marie Barlow, Tyler Grant, Rebekah Meinert, and Brandy Stiles.
Dancers are selected through an audition process and placed into groups based on age & ability.
“EDGE KIDS” requirements include:
- K-IA Level Dancers must take 1 jazz, 1 ballet and weekly rehearsals.
- Company 5 dancers must take 1 jazz, 1 JTS, 1 ballet and weekly rehearsals.
- Company 4 or higher must take 2 ballet classes, 1 jazz, 1 JTS and weekly rehearsals.
- Hip hop, lyrical, tap and acro are optional. Dancers on tap groups must also take a tap class.
- Attend classes 2-3 days a week
- Attend master classes and conventions with special guest teachers and choreographers
- Compete in a minimum of 3 talent competitions in Fresno, California and possibly one out of town
- Perform locally around Kings and Tulare Counties
- Take the “On the Edge” workshop and Summer Dance classes at Dancers Edge
- Be present at all performances and competitions
- Display a positive attitude and strive for personal success in all classes and events throughout the entire year
“EDGE KIDS” dancers’ financial requirements include:
- Monthly tuition (September-June) Varies per dancer
- Costume estimate=$250 per costume (does not include rhinestones)
- Choreography Fee estimate=$60-$150 per dance & per dancer (Varies per choreographer)
- Competition Fee estimate=$40 per group and per competition
- Rhinestone estimate=$75 per costume
- Traveling Jacket=$140 Optional Traveling Pants= $55
- Prop Fee if applicable *See FAQ on last page of packet
- Handling/Transportation Fee if applicable for those routines with props
- Travel Fee per dancer per competition= $10
- Recital Fee= $64 Accounts will be charged an additional $50 on June 1, 2011 for 5 extra company tickets
Average estimate of $600 per routine (estimate based on 3 competitions)
Price based on group routines only. Solos and duet/trios will be extra.
