The “Edge” & “Edge Kids”

Listed below is all the Audition information for the 2010-2011 season for DE Dance Company, Edge & Edge Kids.  Make sure you read through our new DE Dance Company packet, as there are some new opportunities and changes for the upcoming year.

What is the Audition Process?

1. All dancers must sign up and take the required mandatory summer classes at Dancers Edge
2. Turn in the audition form July 26, 2010
3. Attend the “On the Edge” workshop in Visalia

Requirements for Auditions:

The “On the Edge” Workshop will be held August 10 & 12 at the Visalia studio.  The teachers and choreographers will have an opportunity to work one on one with your dancer before audition day. Your dancers will be working with some amazing teachers.

1. The “On the Edge” Workshop will be held August 10 & 12 at the Visalia Studio.
2. All levels of dancers are required to attend.  Classes will be offered
   for ages 4 through 19 years.  There are no other options or exceptions
   to this rule.
3. The fee for the workshop is $150 for Company Levels 1-4; $75 for Company level 5 and younger (non-refundable).

When the audition is and what should I bring?

• Auditions will be held on Friday August 13th. Click here for times.
• Each dancer must bring a $350 deposit to the audition.  Only 1 deposit per dancer is required. This fee will be used as a deposit for choreography, costumes, etc. If you are not accepted into DE Dance Company all deposits will be returned.
• All dancers with paid deposits will receive a number.  Numbers will not
  be given to dancers with an unpaid deposit and will not be given the opportunity to audition.  No exceptions.
• Dancers will wear numbers at the audition.  Please wear all black with
  hair pulled back.
• This audition will be for EDGE and Edge Kids.  Placement for teams will
  be upon the discretion of the Directors
• Cutting Edge in Hanford will be having a separate audition earlier in the week on August 12th. Dancers who choose to attend both “On the Edge” workshops in Visalia and Hanford must pay 2 separate fees. 
• Results will be posted by each dancer’s audition number on the website, www.dedance.com and at Dancers Edge (both locations) on Monday, August 16, 2010. Results will not be given over the phone.  All results are FINAL. No meetings to discuss auditions or placement of dancers in routines.
